ATC / Pilot First Steps

Welcome to IVAO, glad to have you with us! Here you will learn about what you can achieve here!

Real-time ATC services across our airspace.

Structured programmes from basic to advanced.

Weekly events, fly-ins, and special operations.

Consistent standards and professional service.

New to IVAO? You're in the right place.

IVAO is a free, independent network dedicated to providing the most realistic virtual aviation experience possible. Thousands of pilots and controllers connect daily from around the world to fly and manage airspace together in real time.

IVAO Morocco is the official division covering the GMMM Flight Information Region โ€” the airspace of the Kingdom of Morocco. Whether you want to fly in and out of Moroccan airports or provide ATC services across our FIR, we're here to support your journey from day one.

To get started, you'll need:

  • A free IVAO account โ€” register at ivao.aero
  • A flight simulator (MSFS, X-Plane, P3D, and others are all supported)
  • A pilot or ATC client to connect to the network can be found here

Once you're set up, head to the Pilots or Controllers tab depending on the experience you're looking for.

Ready to fly in Moroccan airspace? Here's how to begin.

Step 3 โ€” Learn the basics Before your first flight, get comfortable with:

  • Standard ICAO radio phraseology
  • How to file and activate a flight plan
  • Basic interactions with ATC (clearance, pushback, taxi, departure)

IVAO's training library has everything you need โ€” all free.

Step 4 โ€” Plan your flight Moroccan airport charts and procedures are available through SIA Maroc (the Moroccan AIP). Start with a short domestic route โ€” Casablanca to Marrakech is a great first flight.

Step 5 โ€” Connect and fly Log in, file your plan, and enjoy. The GMMM FIR is waiting.
