FAQ

In this topic, some frequently asked questions regarding the Membership Department will be covered. Please read them before you send an e-mail to the Membership Department.
Questions related to other departments may be covered in the F.A.Q. section of this forum, or in the forum of the relevant department.

For any requests sent via e-mail, you must use English and include your ID#!

1. I'm not registered at IVAO yet and I don't know where I have to go to in order to get my account
Then you can register at http://www.ivao.aero/members/person/register.htm.
The system says you cannot register? It's probably because you already have an account at IVAO. If you belong to an Active Division, please contact your Division Membership Coordinator and/or Membership Assistant Coordinator. If you dont remember your division or if you belong to a non-active division please contact the HQ Membership Department.

2. I have been a member of IVAO for quite a while, but after a period of inactivity I can't log in anymore
Members not connecting to IVAO network as pilot or ATC at least once every 3 months are classified as being "inactive". This means that they can no longer log on to the network and they no longer appear in the member list. This is an automatic process and the members' data is still available in our database but is no longer shown. Reactivating your IVAO account is very easy - please follow one of the steps below:

If you can remember your ID, the solution is very easy: just go to this page http://www.ivao.aero/members/person/details.asp?Id=xxxx   and replace the "XXXXXX" with your ID. Reactivation will be automatically done within 15 minutes.

If you can't remember your password, go to the password reminder page at http://www.ivao.aero/members/person/password.htm enter your VID and your password will be mailed to the e-mail address stated in your personal details.

If you don't remember your VID, send a message to the Members Department at md@ivao.aero , mad@ivao.aero or XX-mc@ivao.aero or XX-mac@ivao.aero (where XX is the two letter code of your division) with your name and surname, e-mail used at registration and they will send your ID as soon as possible.

3. I have created two accounts on IVAO and I want to keep only one and update my hours from my old account to the second one, is it possible?

Yes, it is possible. Send a e-mail to members@ivao.aero informing all your VID's. They will delete the newer account and add your hours to the old account. 


4. I should get an award but I didn't receive it, why?
If it is a Divisional award, please contact the Membership Department of the division concerned.

If it is a World Tour award, please contact the HQ World Tour Department.

If it is other award, please contact the HQ Membership Department.


5. How can I change my e-mail?
If you need to change your e-mail send a request to members@ivao.aero with the following information.
Subject; E-mail change VID (Vid is your ID#)
In the mail please include; reason for changing your e-mail address, old and new e-mail address.
(the word IVAO can not be in your e-mail)(staff members must send their request from their staff e-mail)


6. My hours have not been updated on my account? Is this normal?
Connection hours are updated every 1200z (twice a day). This means that if you had a connection between 0800Z and 1000Z, your connection hours will only be recorded in your account 2 hours later (at 1200Z)

It is also possible that a pilot (only applicable to pilots) stays inactive for a long period (i.e. in the ramp or paused in flight). In this case, the system considers that the pilot is inactive and sandbagging and accordingly, the daily hours will be automatically reset. If this is the case, before 1200z, you will see a note in the "Staff comments".

Please Note: In case of server problems, the hours may not be updated at all and nothing can be done to add those hours.


7. How can I change my division?
According to rule 4.1.6, a member may request a division transfer at any time. However, all transfers are subject to approval by the members' prospective division and the Membership Department.

Send your request to xx-hq@ivao.aero and yy-hq@ivao.aero with CC to members@ivao.aero (in only one mail).

Replace
XX by the 2-letter code of your current division (information only)
YY by the 2-letter code of the target division (needs approval)

In the Subject line include "Division Transfer" and your ID 123456 (replace 123456 by your VID number)
In case you have a pending practical exam, please complete your exam or request a exam cancellation from the Training Department before requesting a Division Transfer.
Only one transfer is allowed per year (only one transfer request per 12 months period)


8. I lost my passwords, how can I get them?
You can resquest your account passwords via this link: http://ivao.aero/members/person/password.htm
If you receive any type of connection error to IVAN 15 minutes after the reactivation, please contact the HQ Membership Department.


9. Who may I contact if I have further/other questions?
Feel free to contact the HQ Membership Department for any questions/doubts/suggestions.
